Standard Sizes and Applications of Wood Formwork

I. Standard Sizes of Wood Formwork

The standard sizes of wood formwork usually involve three aspects: thickness, width, and length. In building construction, the following are common standard sizes:

Thickness: There are generally multiple thickness options, including 12mm, 15mm, 18mm, 21mm, 24mm, 27mm, and 30mm. Among them, 12mm and 15mm are suitable for lightweight concrete structures, and those above 18mm are suitable for heavyweight concrete structures.

Width: It is approximately 1.22m, with additional specifications of 1.25m and 1.5m.

Length: Generally, it is 2.44m, and there are also various length specifications such as 3.05m, 3.66m, and 4.88m.

II. Application Areas of Wood Formwork with Different Thicknesses

12 - mm wood formwork: It is suitable for fields such as interior decoration of ships, modelmaking, and lightweight concrete structures.

15 - mm wood formwork: It is suitable for lightweight construction fields such as wallboards, partition boards, and movable houses.

18 - mm wood formwork: It is suitable for medium - and heavyweight concrete structure fields such as floor slabs, beams, and columns.

21 - mm to 27 - mm wood formwork: It is suitable for formwork of large-scale concrete beams and slabs, and is also suitable for large-scale engineering fields such as tunnel construction and bridge construction.

30 - mm wood formwork: It is suitable for fields such as stage production, signboard production, and billboard production.
