Environmental Protection Grade of Furniture Board

The environmental protection grade of furniture board usually refers to the limited grade of formaldehyde emission, which contains multiple levels, and these levels have their own formaldehyde emission standards. The following are some common environmental protection grades of furniture board:

E grade:

E1 grade: The formaldehyde emission is ≤0.124mg/m3, which is a mandatory health standard in the country and is applicable to the manufacture of indoor furniture.

E0 grade: The formaldehyde emission is lower, and the standard is ≤0.050mg/m3, which is an environmental protection standard superior to E1 grade and is highly praised by many domestic board brands.

ENF grade: That is, the “undetected” level, the formaldehyde emission is extremely low, and the standard is ≤0.025mg/m3, which is the highest environmental protection standard of the current new national standard.

F star grade (Japanese standard):

F grade: The formaldehyde emission is ≤0.3mg/L, which is the highest health grade in the Japanese environmental protection standard, and the requirements for the environmental protection performance of the board are very strict.

Among the P1 grade, P2 grade and NAF grade in the US CARB certification grade, the formaldehyde release standard of the NAF grade (formaldehyde-free exemption certification) is very strict.

There may also be some self-defined environmental protection grades in the market, such as the standards set by certain brands or manufacturers themselves, and these standards may vary by brand or region.

When choosing furniture board, it should be comprehensively considered according to one’s own needs and budget, combined with the environmental protection grade of the board and other performance indicators (such as strength, durability, etc.).
